I made a shiplog just so I can keep myself accountable and have my projects out there.
Got a sudden idea that the blue background could be a three js animation instead. Now I have an animated background that can dynamically change colors. I also added a custom project page system so I can make a custom page for the most important projects.

New UI
Fixed the background and home page, so now it looks more sophisticated but still playful. I really like how it looks and feels.

I think I finally found a solution by having my shiplog stuff on the right side of the nav bar, and the main portfolio stuff on the left side.

I started on the main portfolio website, and I hate how sterile and boring it looks. I have this problem where I both want to keep the current shiplog setup with updates, and projects, while also being able to make custom portfolio pages for my most impressive projects. Currently, the shiplog page shows the high quality projects like strimo and aerdash the same way as the low quality projects that I only spent 2 days on.
I don't think I want to have all my projects on marcusotterstad.com. I think this fits better in blog.marcusotterstad.com. Then I can have my best projects with a custom built page like Strimo, Aerdash, MCP on marcusotterstad.com as my portfolio.
Added animated navbar icons

I've fixed some small things, like:
- Removed welcome part from home page, so now it's just updates
- Added a new /about page, that displays shipped projects
- Fixed many small phone responsiveness issues

New Shiplog just dropped!
I'm very happy with the new style. It seems to get simpler the more I work on it. The background is less distracting, and I finally got rid of the flat white design. I would say the site is a lot more cohesive now.

I don't know what to do with the UI of shiplog. I want it to be unique but I don't want it to look distracting or gimmicky. I have tried different iterations that feel mine and doesn't have boring flat design.
Here's a test version:

I'm gonna add localstorage, so you can see new posts.
I still don't really like how it looks.
I fixed the problem I had with screenshots and comments, now all of my posts are just markdown articles. So if I only want to post screenshots, I can in markdown. I really like how this feels and looks now. I will probably change more at some point, but this works for now.

Shiplog
I want to keep myself accountable with my projects, and actually finish them. I think creating this shiplog is a good first step to doing so. It would be cool if I can complete like 4 projects I am proud of by the end of the year.
I finished the first version of the page, but I kinda hate it. I don't know why I separated screenshots and comments. Also the style is just a mess, it's just a mix of a bunch of different styles without any cohesion.
